It flopped in India, but Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga has already made Rs 1200 cr
Jackie Chan plays an archaeologist in the film.
Jackie Chan and Sonu Sood’s Indo-Chinese martial arts movie Kung Fu Yoga failed to make an impression in India, but it’s making a killing in China.
Box Office Mojo reports that the film, which also stars Disha Patani, has so far earned $180 million worldwide. That’s Rs 1200 crore. Out of this international total, $179 million comes from China alone.
In India, despite a strong marketing push which involved star Jackie Chan visiting the country and promoting it on the popular The Kapil Sharma Show, the film failed to connect with the audiences.
It was reported by Forbes that the film made less than Rs 4 crore on its opening day in India.
It didn’t help that the film was received negatively by most major publications. It currently sits at a 46% on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
The Hindustan Times review declared, “Kung Fu Yoga feels like a film that was made up on the spot.
