IEDs found near CPN-UML’s programme venue in Saptari
RAJBIRAJ: Two homemade bombs were discovered near the Gajendra Narayan Singh Industrial Estate in Saptari district, where the CPN-UML is scheduled to hold a mass meeting as a part of the party’s Mechi-Mahakali campaign, on Monday.
One of the improvised explosive devices was discovered south of the Estate in Nahar Chok of Maleth VDC along the Rupani-Rajbiraj road section, the Saptari District Police Office said. The other bomb was planted at Pipra Tole of Rayapur, north of the Estate, informed DSP Dan Bahadur Karki.
The IEDs were prepared using socket and pressure cooker bomb.
The Nepal Army’s bomb disposal team has been sent to the sites to diffuse the IEDs.
